Owners / Directors

Lynn Potyondy and Lori Millsap are the Directors/Owners of Elite Dance Academy. Their vision is that students will come to find a lasting love and joy towards dance. Lori and Lynn are a sister team working together to create an atmosphere where students and parents can feel safe and enjoy the family environment offered at Elite Dance Academy.



Lori Millsap

Lori received her BA degree in Dance from the University of California, Irvine with an emphasis in teaching. She began her training in ballet with Patricia Cote and studied tap and jazz with Christine Shaffer. As she continued her study in dance, she trained with Ballet West, Milwaukee Ballet, Jimmie De Fore and performed with Ballet Pacifica. She studied from professionals such as Jilliana, Larry Rosenburg, Donald Mc Kayle, Janice Plastino, Elizabeth Morse, Diane Defiender, Molly Lynch, and El Gabriel. Lori was chosen to perform with the UCI Touring Ensemble. She is accredited and an active member of Dance Masters of America. She was the Vice President of Dance Masters of Southern California. She has been teaching dance throughout the community for over 20 years. Lori has co-produced original ballets, including Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, The Ugly Duckling , The Adventures of Madeline and The Wizard of Oz.



Lynn Potyondy

Lynn received a BA in Dance from the University of California, Irvine with an emphasis in teaching. She has extensively studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Modern. Some of the accomplished teachers/choreographers she has studied under include: Donald Mckayle, Laurence Rosenburg, Diane Defiender, El Gabriel and Janice Plastino. In addition, Lynn was selected to train with Ballet West for three years, in their summer intensive program. She performed in various productions with the UCI Dance Department, as well as performing for several years with Ballet Pacifica in various roles for their Nutcracker Ballet and Spring Concerts. Lynn has taught dance for 20 years throughout Orange County. She has co-produced original ballets, including Peter Pan, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and the Wizard of Oz. Lynn is also a certified member of Dance Masters of America and served as chair for Dance Masters of Southern California Performing Arts Competition from 1998-2002.



Amanda Barnes

Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance with a Minor in Organizational and Leadership Studies at Chapman University in 2010. While at Chapman, she performed in various dance productions, toured statewide with the Chapman University Dance Ensemble and competed on the Dance Team, winning  several National Championships.  She began her training at Christine's Dance Studio/Elite Dance Academy at age 3 where she had the opportunity to perform in many dance recitals as well as compete in many different competitions where she earned the title of Petite Miss Dance of Southern California and Teen Miss Dance of Southern California (DMA). She has also performed many of the lead roles in several Elite Ballet Productions including: Peter Pan in Peter Pan, the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty and the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz. Amanda was a Varsity Songleader at Esperanza High School where she competed and won National titles at Aloha Spirit, United Spirit Association, and U.S. Spiritleaders competitions. She also participated in a summer intensive with the New York City Rockettes.  Amanda has had the privilege of studying under many accomplished dance professionals including Dale Merril, Nancy Dickson-Lewis, Larry Rosenberg, Liz Maxwell, Robin Kish, Jennifer Backhaus, and Alicia Okouchi-Guy. Amanda has several years experience as a songleading coach and choreographer and is currently the Varsity Songleading Coach at Orange Lutheran High School.



Lisa Bates

Lisa received her B.A. in Dance from Keene State College and earned an M.F.A. in Dance and Photography from the University of California, Irvine in 2010.  She has trained in Modern, Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip-hop. Her training began at the Academy of Movement and Melissa Hoffman Dance Center. She performed as an undergraduate in the evening of Dance Concert from 2005-2007.Other performing opportunities include the Camera Obscura Project “Revealed “with Stephan Koplowitz in Amherst, MA. She was on a national winning dance team at Keene State College where she was the Team Captain from 2005-2007. Before teaching at Elite, Lisa taught at the Academy of Movement and Melissa Hoffman Dance Center. Lisa also teaches various dance classes at Cypress College and Fullerton College.



Jennifer Blomquist

Jennifer received a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Dance/Theatre from Chapman University and a MA in Social Science with an Emphasis in Human Resource and Leadership Studies from Azusa Pacific University. She began her dance training at Christine's Dance Studio/Triple C Dance Studio. She later trained at other various schools in Orange County under professionals such as Kirsten Potts, Barbara Arms, Larry Rosenburg, Diane Defiender, Tim Hill, Dave Massey, Michael McBain, and Sylvia Turner. She has taught dance for over 20 years including the Academy of Ballet Arts and Artistic Dance in Utah, Canyon High school, and Rancho Santiago Community College. She was the producer of the Miss City of Orange Pagent/ Miss America Scholarship Association for numerous years. Jennifer was the President of the Mountain West Ballet Company in Sandy, Utah. She is also accredited and an active member of Dance Masters of America.

Julia Klein

Julia received her BS in Child and Adolescent Development from Cal State University, Fullerton. She also has taken some post graduate courses in Kinesiology. She studied ballet, jazz, tap and pointe at Christine's Dance Studio. She performed many of the lead roles in several of the ballet productions at Christine’s such as Wendy in Peter Pan, the Scarecrow in Wizard of Oz and Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. She was in advance dance at Villa Park High School for four years. She has had the opportunity to participate in several workshops with Dance Master’s of America. She has been teaching dance at Christine's Dance Studio/ Elite Dance Academy for eight years. Julia has also taught hip hop for after school programs throughout the community.



Summer Robins

Summer has received her degree from Duke University where she majored in Psychology and minored in Dance and Biological Anthropology and Anatomy. She was awarded a full scholarship to study with the Alvin Ailey Dance Academy. She was awarded the Julia Wray Award for excellence in choreography through Duke University Dance Program. She was awarded the Clay Taliaferro Award for excellence in dance technique through Duke University. She also received the Benenson Award which awarded her funds to pursue an independent dance project to explore professional dance opportunities which allowed her to train intensively at Edge Performing Arts Center in LA. Summer was the dance team captain at Duke and lead the team to a national ranking of eighth place at NDA Collegiate Competition.




Becca Schlueter

Becca began dancing at the age of 3 at Elite Dance Academy/Christine’s Dance Studio. She has studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop. She performed the lead roles in several ballet productions at Elite such as Cinderella in Cinderella and the Lion in Wizard of OZ. Becca has participated with Elite on their Competitive Dance Teams. She has been a teacher assistant and a substitute teacher for several years. Becca was selected to perform in several dance pieces for a variety of performing arts productions at Orange Lutheran High School. She is currently attending FIDM College where she is pursuing a career in visual communications.



Jessica Steele




Jesika Van Dorn

Jesika has been dancing since she was 5 years old.  She has studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and hip hop at Elite Dance Academy. She has been a teacher assistant for many classes at Elite. She has performed the lead roles in several Elite Dance Academy Ballets Productions; such as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, and Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ. Jesika also has competed in various dance competitions throughout Southern California.  She is pursuing her study of dance at Orange Coast College and looking forward to performing opportunities in this area.
